A worker led initiative around Values and Safety was being rolled out. The team leading the project wanted to create a culture encouraging contributions from all staff in designing the aspects of safety around the plant.
A key focus of the video was engendering a sense of pride and purpose amongst people – so that they realized their own worth and how important they were to the local community, each other and their families. A ‘why’ was established behind the need for proactivity around safety. Children were interviewed about how they felt about their dads safety. Workers were asked if they knew the values, and how they understood them, and would implement them.
