We’ll begin with: –
Stage 0: Developing your Idea
In the beginning you’re going to spend some time exploring what you want to achieve with your video story. You will consider not only how this result will improve things for you and your business but reflect on how your ideas will transform your life and the lives of your audience.
Stage 1: Getting to know your audience
You may think you know your audience but now is the time to intimately discover what actually makes them tick. The more you know them the more adept you will be at speaking directly to them.
Stage 2: Crafting your story.
Now, you’re going to decide not only which story to tell but how to tell that story. You will master how to introduce your main character, so that the audience immediately connects with them. You will learn how to grab your audiences’ attention with a hook that speaks to their problems. And find out how to carry your audience on a wave of positive emotion, so that they feel inspired to act.
Stage 3: Filming your story.
This is the fun stage where you get to take out your Phone and film your story. (You can even film your interviews on Zoom or any other program you have available). You will learn how to use lighting to your advantage. Discover the importance of sound. Master framing in order to set the scene and the mood. And best of all learn how to interview your main characters, so that you can capture their real thoughts and feelings told from the heart. This is what will captivate your audiences’ imagination. This is the magic of authentic storytelling.
Stage 4: Editing your story.
But the secret to all great storytelling actually comes down to the editing. So, in this stage you’re going to download iMovie and learn how to cut up all the amazing material that you’ve filmed and piece together the interviews to tell a captivating story. Then you will master how to add cutaways to add depth and meaning. And layer music, sound effects and graphics on top, so that you can really captivate, engage and influence your audience.
(Please note: There’s now a bonus module for Android users on how to edit their movie on Adobe Premier Rush)
